The French aerospace company Dassault has handed over a new batch of three Rafale fighter jets to the Egyptian Air Force.
The photos were posted on Linkedin by photographer Raphaël Savry.
Egypt received three aircraft in a single-seat configuration with tail numbers EM12, EM13 and EM14 under the 2021 contract.
With this batch, Egypt’s Rafale fleet now includes 29 operational fighters, and the total number of the two contracts should be 55 fighters.
According to the contract, deliveries will last until 2026, but some observers believe that these deadlines may not be met on time due to Dassault’s heavy workload with export orders.
It is worth noting that Egypt’s purchase of Rafale fighter jets is part of the replacement of the older Dassault Mirage model. New aircraft are ordered under two contracts. The first was signed in 2015, under which the country received 24 fighters. As part of the second order, Egypt purchased 31 more fighters.
Earlier, Militarnyi reported that the Greek Air Force is considering purchasing a new batch of Rafale fighters in the F4.3 modification.
The Greek command seeks to receive aircraft in the F4.3 version, which has improved electronics, network integration, new OSF-IRST infrared optics and the TRAGEDAC passive detection system.
