The Czech volunteer initiative Dárek pro Putina (Gift for Putin) is raising funds for 5 training aircraft for the Ukrainian military.
The volunteers announced this on the social media platform X.
The aircraft in question are lightweight two-seat Alto NG planes, which future combat pilots will use to reinforce and expand their basic skills.
“Ukraine needs pilots. And they need to learn to fly on something. Help us buy 5 Czech training aircraft Alto NG for the future Ukrainian military flight school. Its graduates will one day protect us from Russia. Let’s help them grow up. Let’s help them take off,” wrote the Czech volunteers.
The single-engine Alto NG aircraft are manufactured by the Czech company Direct Fly.
The volunteers note that this model of aircraft was chosen by Ukraine as the “ideal machine for the basic training of its military pilots.”
Czech volunteers invite people to join the fundraising effort on this platform.
The aircraft has a length of 6.30 meters, a wingspan of 8.20 meters. Its maximum takeoff weight is 600 kilograms, and its cruising speed is 180 km/h.
