The Chinese military is ready to cooperate with its Russian counterparts to strengthen strategic communication and coordination.
Reuters reports this with reference to Tan Kefei, Spokesman of the Chinese defense ministry.
He stated that the two countries would work together to implement global security initiatives. This regards deepening military trust and jointly safeguarding international fairness and justice.
Russia and China will organize joint maritime, air patrols, and exercises.
Between March 15 and 19, China, Russia, and Iran held joint military exercises in the Gulf of Oman. The exercise included aerial reconnaissance, rescue operations, maneuvering, and more.
The day before, The New York Times journalists published an investigation into the transfer of drones by China to the Russian Federation.
China has sold over $12 million worth of drones and drone parts to the country within the year since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
However, it was noted that Chinese companies are supplying UAVs to Russia either for political reasons or simply for profit. They use complex supply chains that might include over a dozen intermediary firms.
In addition, in some cases, delivery descriptions could be intentionally vague or underestimate the total volume of goods being sent.
In total, nearly 70 Chinese exporters had been selling 26 distinct brands of Chinese drones to Russia since the invasion.
Chinese authorities officially do not declare their support for Russia, but according to US officials, Beijing has been in contact with Moscow since the beginning of the invasion.
As previously reported, China is considering providing Russia with drones and ammunition.
