Canada will provide additional military assistance to Ukraine.
This was announced on the official website of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
Canada is allocating $50 million to strengthen the artillery of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
These funds are allocated to purchase additional ammunition for M777 howitzers.
Canada will also be purchasing 18 drone cameras for Ukraine, including in-service support and repair.
$15 million will be spent on space exploration – the purchase of high-resolution satellite imagery.
Up to $1 million will be spent on small arms and related ammunition.
Justin Trudeau, Prime Minister of Canada stated in Kyiv that this would regard the anti-tank weapons:
“We will provide NLAWs and other anti-tank weapons to Ukraine, as well as fund the demining efforts within the areas liberated from Russian invaders.”
In total, Budget 2022 also proposes $500 million in additional military aid to Ukraine.
Canada has allegedly handed over four M777 howitzers and ammunition, including the newest Excalibur extended-range GPS-guided shells, and Roshel armored vehicles.
