In January 2024, the Artillery Coalition will start working in Paris to strengthen the Ukrainian military.
The press service of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reported on this.
The statement was made by Lieutenant General Ivan Havryliuk, Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine, during a meeting with a delegation of the Senate of the French Parliament.
He emphasized that it is very important for Ukraine to strengthen its firepower through the supply of howitzers by the allies.
In particular, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are interested in further purchases of Caesar self-propelled howitzers for their needs.
“The Caesar self-propelled howitzers demonstrated high efficiency and accuracy in the battle,” Havryliuk stated.
In 2024, fire control tests of Caesar self-propelled howitzers with the use of artificial intelligence are planned.
According to the Deputy Minister of Defense, the use of AI will reduce the use of ammunition for shooting and hitting targets by 30%.
At the same time, Ivan Havryliuk called on France to assist in increasing the amount of the Caesar self-propelled howitzer ammunition.
On November 30, it was reported that additional Caesar self-propelled howitzers had been purchased and more ammunition had been delivered.
Militarnyi reported on November 8 that the French government announced the allocation of an additional €200 million for the Ukrainian army support fund, used to finance arms purchases.
On October 3, it was reported that France will provide Ukraine with six more 155-mm CAESAR self-propelled howitzers manufactured by Nexter.
Due to the increased demand for self-propelled howitzers, the manufacturer Nexter has increased the production rate of Caesar self-propelled howitzers to six units per month and proposes to improve this figure.
