Explosives technicians from the National Police received special equipment and medical supplies assistance from the United Kingdom.

The aid is intended for explosives technicians of the National Police that work in Kyiv and Kyiv region, as well as for the police units in Donetsk, Kharkiv, and Mykolaiv regions of Ukraine.
Volodymyr Khomenko, Head of the National Police’s Explosives Service, shared that the Ukrainian police received aid from the British colleagues through the Friends of Ukraine EOD Foundation and with the support of Paul Rigg, Director of Training Activities who has 25 years of experience.
“The aid was provided by the UK colleagues, with whom we had the plans to conduct trainings for Ukrainian explosives technicians this year.
In just a month from now we were to go to England and provide training for our specialists. Without incentives, our friends from Britain together with their colleagues had collected equipment and special tools for us ut at their own expense.
We are very grateful to them for the help. This shows the brotherhood of explosives technicians from different countries in action.”
In particular, the National Police stated that Ukrainian explosives technicians had received special equipment to neutralize the explosive devices.
To be specific, the aid from the UK included the minesweepers, detonation control systems, diagnostic devices, medical kits, and other tools.
As reported earlier, Ukraine’s defense forces have received Starstreak portable anti-aircraft missile systems.
Ukrainian servicemen has already trained and mastered these latest weapons.
Starstreak – MANPADS were adopted by the United Kingdom in 1997. The declared effective firing altitude is up to 5000 m, the range is 6000+ m. A missile with a warhead of 0.9 kg can reach a speed of 3.5 Mach.
