All border guard stations in Luhansk region received portable NLAW anti-tank systems.
Militarnyi informs with reference to its own sources.
It was reported that several hundred anti-tank systems were sent to the border guards.
Instructors were also allocated for personnel NLAW trainings.
“It will be delivered to detachmets until the end of the week and at the same time conducting trainings,” the source said.
One of the main advantages of NLAW is its high usability. To master this ATGM, a soldier needs about one hour of training.
In the presented photos are dozens of NLAW containers transported by military trucks.
Recall that in January 2022, the UK handed over a batch of NLAW anti-tank systems to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
SAAB (Sweden) developed NLAW (Next generation Light Anti-tank Weapon). NLAW is a light disposable anti-tank system with an effective firing range of up to 600 (in the new version up to 800) meters. The main purpose of the NLAW ATGM is the destruction of armored vehicles, armored personnel carriers and tanks. Effective firing range 400-600 meters.
Guaranteed armor penetration with a cumulative warhead – up to 500 mm of homogeneous rolled armor. This ATGM also has a principle – shot and forgot. Complex has inertial guidance system and magnetic fuse.
The combat weight is 12.5 kg, which allows engaging only one infantryman for firing, who can be taught to shoot from this ATGM very quickly. This system can rightly be called the last frontier of defense of the destruction of armored vehicles on the battlefield. In addition, it is very effective in urban combat.
Currently, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are armed with a multiple RPG-7 and single-charge RPG-19 and RPG-26, but their effective range is only 200-350 meters, which may be short. NLAW allows to close the gaps of anti-tank distances, to increase the concentration of anti-tank vehicles at distances of 200-800 meters.
