Australia has received a new batch of UH-60M Black Hawk helicopters.

Two more UH-60M Black Hawk multi-role helicopters have arrived in Australia, designed for the country’s air units, the Australian Ministry of Defense has reported.

They were delivered by a US Air Force C-17 Globemaster III transport aircraft to the Royal Australian Air Force base in Richmond, New South Wales.

Thus, the Australian Army has already received 17 of the 40 planned Black Hawks, which replace the fleet of outdated MRH-90 Taipan.

The delivery is part of Australia’s large-scale aviation modernization program, which runs until 2030.

The new UH-60Ms provide increased mobility of troops, the ability to quickly transport personnel, equipment and rescue operations in combat conditions.

“Defense cooperation between the United States and Australia remains one of the key areas of development, enhancing interoperability on the battlefield,” the Australian Department of Defense said.

As a reminder, Australia has recently severed diplomatic relations with Iran.
