Belarusian volunteers of Ukraine received the BMP-2 infantry fighting vehicle.
The Belarusian Regiment named after Kastus Kalinoŭski acquired the infantry fighting vehicle.
Volunteers seized this armored vehicle from the Russian military.
“The truck was hit with a grenade launcher and was struck on the right side,” the soldiers shared.
The Belarusians repaired the BMP’s cannon and engine and put the vehicle in their arsenal.
The soldiers also mentioned that they possess 9M111 and 9M113 missiles for anti-tank missile launchers captured from the Russians.
This infantry fighting vehicle should soon be taking part in hostilities on the side of the Ukrainian forces.
“There is a wonderful addition to Kastus Kalinoŭski Regiment! Our soldiers have restored the trophy BMP of the invaders, and very soon, as they say, it will be giving hell,” Belarusian soldiers noted.
This Soviet infantry fighting vehicle has a 2A42 30mm cannon and a 7.62mm machine gun.
It was previously reported that the soldiers of this Regiment are also armed with Ukraine-made 60 mm KBA-118 mortars, FN SCAR-L assault rifles, PSRL-1 anti-tank grenade launchers, FIM-92 Stinger man-portable air-defense systems, RGW-90 MATADOR grenade launchers, etc.
The Kastus Kalinoŭski Regiment was created in March 2022 to defend Ukraine, namely the city of Kyiv, from the Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022.
The Regiment is formed from members of the “Belarus” tactical group, members of the “White Legion” and “Young Front”, as well as other Belarusians who were not previously part of such formations.
