Belarusian service personnel of the Polonez multiple launch rocket system are training at Russian training grounds.
The Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Belarus reported on this.
“Preparations for exercises on missile strike control are being finalized at one of Russia’s training grounds,” the statement reads.
It is reported that the service personnel will launch missiles at a distance of 300 kilometers.
On August 13, the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Belarus reported that units of the Belarusian Armed Forces had gone to Russia to conduct a field exercise.
The Belaruski Gayun monitoring group suggests that these are units of the 336th Rocket Artillery Brigade (military unit #12180) and the 465th Missile Brigade (military unit #61732), armed with Polonez-M MLRS and Iskander-M missile systems, respectively.
Militarnyi previously reported that the Armed Forces of Belarus deployed another group of signal corps soldiers to undergo training in Russia.
The Belaruski Gayun monitoring group stated that the soldiers belong to the 127th Communications Brigade of military unit #30677, which is based in Kalodzishchy, Minsk district.
In August, there were repeated reports of Belarusian soldiers being sent to Russia to participate in unknown training exercises.
Militarnyi also informed that Belarus will not be able to transfer Polonez multiple launch rocket systems to Russia without China’s consent.
Since the Polonez multiple launch rocket system uses Chinese-made missiles, its potential transfer from Belarus to Russia would require China’s consent.
Beijing and Minsk are trying not to cross the West’s red lines in military cooperation both with each other and with Russia. That is why their ties in the foreseeable future will remain mainly in the economic sphere.
