Alexander Lukashenko has announced plans to set up a training center for Iskander short-range ballistic missile system in Belarus.

Belarus will ask Russia to set up a training center for Russian Iskander missile systems.

“We must master modern weapons in Belarus, because our army is at the frontline. It (the Belarusian army) must have the most modern weapons. We will either buy them or Russia will provide us with them, because we have a joint army. However, air defense we have in common, which is very important. That is, a common base, it turns out… Therefore, there is no need to create a common base” Aleksandr Lukashenko said.

In order for the Belarusian servicemen to master Russian military equipment, it is necessary to set up military training centers.

Lukashenko said that three training centers have already been set up.

“We will buy these weapons from the Russian Federation. I will ask for a fourth center to be set up for Belarusian servicemen to learn to use Iskanders,” Lukashenko added.
