The Turkish drone Bayraktar TB3 has carried out its first bombing mission with MAM-T precision guided munitions.

This is stated in Baykar’s press release.

The first tests using the weapon were reported to have been conducted on December 17. The drone took off from Baykar’s Flight Training and Test Center in Keshan with two Roketsan MAM-T bombs on its suspensions.

The drone successfully conducted the strike using Aselsan’s ASELFLIR-500 electro-optical intelligence, surveillance, and targeting system.

On November 19, it was reported that the Bayraktar TB3 landed and took off from the deck of the Anadolu amphibious assault ship of the Turkish Navy for the first time.

Bayraktar TB3

The drone is visually similar to the Bayraktar TB2 but has larger dimensions and folding wings for deployment on aircraft carriers or amphibious assault ships.

The newest drones are planned to be deployed on the Turkish amphibious assault ship Anadolu. After the tests are completed, 30 to 40 UAVs are to be deployed on its deck.

The ship will also host a command center for TB3, allowing at least 10 drones to be used in operations simultaneously.

The Bayraktar TB3 is superior to its predecessor in all respects: it can carry a payload of up to 280 kg, with a maximum takeoff weight of 1450 kg.

The TB3’s claimed flight time is over 50 hours, and its maximum speed is 300 kilometers per hour.

The drone has six missile and bomb mounts, which, along with its payload capacity, will allow it to use a wide range of modern precision weapons.

The drone took to the skies for the first time in late October 2023.

MAM

MAM (Mikro Akıllı Mühimmat) is a line of lightweight precision-guided glider munitions produced by the Turkish company Roketsan.

All products in the line are equipped with a laser semi-active homing head. The bombs are intended for use from drones and light manned aircraft.

The line consists of three models: MAM-C, MAM-L, and MAM-T.

The MAM-T munition dropped by the TB3 has a diameter of 230 millimeters, a weight of 94 kilograms, and a range of 30 kilometers when used from drones.
