Australia will issue a new $100 million military assistance package for Ukraine.
It will include 14 APCs and 20 Bushmaster armored vehicles.
This was announced by Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese during a joint press conference with Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
“Today we are announcing an additional $100 million in military-technical assistance to Ukraine. In total, we have already provided $390 million. We are also providing an additional 14 armored personnel carriers, as well as 20 Bushmaster armored vehicles. Thus, the total number of Bushmaster armored vehicles will be 60,” said Anthony Albanese.
The total number likely includes M113 armored personnel carriers previously transferred to Ukraine from Australia.
Anthony Albanese noted that Ukraine will also receive other equipment, in particular drones. All aid will be issued according to Ukraine’s requests.
The Prime Minister also assured that Australia will continue to support the Border Guard Service of Ukraine.
“In addition, we will provide further assistance to the border troops of Ukraine – we will improve their equipment, the level of cyber security and improve control over the border,” he added.
He also mentioned upcoming support for Ukraine in the International Courts, as well as introduction of additional sanctions and restrictions for Russian officials.
Previously, the Prime Minister of Slovakia announced that the country can transfer MiG-29 fighters to Ukraine.
