Over the past 24 hours, Ukraine’s defense forces have been conducting counterattacks in Sievierodonetsk. These actions have nullified the operational impulse of the enemy forces.

British Ministry of Defense reports about this on Twitter.

Russian forces committed in Sievierodonetsk include personnel mobilized from the reserve of Russian-led separatist forces of the self-declared Luhansk People’s Republic. These troops are poorly equipped and trained and lack heavy equipment in comparison to regular Russian units.

Serhiy Haidai, Head of the Luhansk Regional Military Administration, stated that the Ukrainian military had managed to push the invaders back. If previously the enemy-controlled 70% of the city, now Sievierodonetsk is divided in half.

“In recent days, our defenders managed to push them back, thus the city, we can say, is divided into two parts, but, unlike before, in half, therefore the shelling has majorly increased. They are simply destroying the entire territory controlled by Ukrainians,” Serhiy Haidai said.

Haidai also stressed that the fighting continues, the enemy suffers significant losses, and Ukrainian forces managed to take prisoners.

At the same time, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reports that the invaders continue their assault operations in Sievierodonetsk. Also, to capture the dominant heights, the enemy is trying to attack in the direction of Nyrkove – Mykolaivka.

As previously reported, the Defense Forces of Ukraine in Sievierodonetsk were reinforced by the troops of the International Legion of Ukraine.
