Serbia sold 48 Nora B52 wheeled self-propelled howitzers to an unnamed country.

According to the Serbian portal b92.net, President Aleksandar Vučić confirmed the contract.

The deal to supply artillery systems is worth €311 million.

Vučić did not name the country and only noted that it was not located “in Africa.” According to him, the country’s president and parliament have yet to complete the formal procedures for approving the Nora B52 ACS order.

The deal to supply 48 Serbian wheeled self-propelled howitzers was announced back in November.

A number of sources in Serbia and the Caucasus claim that Azerbaijan is the customer of this large batch of Nora B52s. However, there is no official confirmation of this information.

The Nora B52 is a Serbian wheeled self-propelled howitzer developed by Yugoimport SDPR engineers in 2006.

The 155mm self-propelled howitzer is based on the D-20 howitzer with an extended barrel length of 52 caliber. A significant number of parts of the gun carriage are borrowed from the D-20 and M-46 howitzers.

The artillery unit is mounted on a rotary platform at the rear of the chassis with an 8×8 wheel arrangement.

The gun is fixed in the stowed position, but for firing, it is turned backward and stabilized by four telescopic electro-hydraulic outriggers.

The vehicle’s ammunition has 36 rounds, 12 of which are ready to fire and are placed in the automatic loader, and another 24 are in the ammunition magazine located behind the cab. The firing range is up to 41 km.

The Nora B52 self-propelled howitzers are actively exported. In addition to Serbia, these wheeled self-propelled howitzers are in service in Bangladesh, Cyprus, Myanmar, and Kenya.
