An ammunition depot is on fire in Russia’s Belgorod region.
Militarnyi informs about this.
The incident at the military facility was reported by the Russian media with reference to the Governor of the region Vyacheslav Gladkov.
An ammunition depot is on fire near the village of Staraya Nelidovka not far from the border with Ukraine.
“At approximately 03:35 am I woke up from a loud sound that sounded like a blast. So far no regular service of the city and region finds the cause of this sound. The search continues, and the results will be announced immediately. As I was writing this post, three more blasts were heard,” the governor wrote on his Telegram channel.
He mentioned that damage to residential buildings or civilian casualties were not reported.
The Belgorod region of Russia borders the Kharkiv and Sumy regions of Ukraine.
The Russian village of Staraya Nelidovka is located a few dozen kilometers away from the Ukrainian border.
It should be noted that this is not the first similar incident at the Russian military facilities in the Belgorod region.
Previously, on April 1, in the Russian city of Belgorod, explosions and a large fire at the oil depot were reported. It was later reported that two depot employees had been injured.
On March 29, in the Belgorod region, explosions had erupted at an ammunition depot of the Russian army. The incident took place near the village of Krasny Oktyabr.
Four Russian servicemen were reportedly wounded.
