American-made microchips were found in Russia`s modern military radio stations captured in Ukraine.

The Ukrainian military got hold of the R-168-5UT-2 radio station.

The captured radio station was marked with a holographic sign of the FSS of Russia: “Center for Information Protection and Special Communication of the FSS of Russia.”

The R-168-5UT-2 radio station is designed to provide an opened or encrypted radio communications upon the installation in moving objects on the wheelbase.

Main operating modes:

• implex and two-frequency simplex at a fixed frequency;
• remote control;
• automatic retransmission;
• noise suppression;
• pseudo-random restructuring of the working frequency;
• adaptive connection;
• automatic maintenance control;
• work with full, medium, and low powers.

It is being produced at the Russian enterprise “Sarapul Radio Plant,” in the Udmurt Republic of the Russian Federation.

American microchips

After a detailed examination of the radio station, it was discovered that the Russian product is stuffed with American microchips. In particular, the products of the American company Xilinx with its headquarters in California were installed in the R-168-5UT-2 radio station.

Microchips of the American company Integrated Silicon Solution, Inc. (ISSI) which is as well based in California were also discovered in the radio station.

The Russian military product is equipped with the microchips of one of the largest American companies that produce the integrated chips – Analog Devices. The company’s headquarters are located in Massachusetts.

The radio station is also produced by the American high-tech company Texas Instruments Incorporated, which is located in Dallas.

The company is the fourth largest manufacturer of semiconductors in the world, outnumbered only by Intel, Samsung, and Toshiba.
