Only 39.2% of Poles support the reintroduction of mandatory military conscription.
This idea is opposed by 45.5% of respondents, and another 15.3% have no definite position, according to Polish Radio for Ukraine.
According to the radio, supporters of the return of conscription are mainly voters of the current government, as well as people over 70 years old – 59%.
Among them are more residents of small villages (42%) and representatives of all educational levels – from primary to higher education (39% each).
Opponents of conscription are mostly women (49%), people aged 30 and under (59%), and Generation Z (58%).
The greatest resistance is observed among residents of large cities (54%) and people with higher education (52%).
The survey was conducted on October 24-25, 2025, on a representative sample of 1067 people across Poland.
To summarize, the results show that the issue of the return of conscription remains a divisive one for Polish society and depends on age, place of residence, and political preferences.
Poland has recently updated the rules for the appearance of female soldiers.
