Jet aircraft of the Ukrainian Air Force struck a concentration of Russian invaders’ manpower and equipment.
A video of Ukrainian aviators in action was shared on the Ukrainian Air Force Facebook page.
The Su-25 pilots used unguided air missiles to destroy invaders’ positions.
The video shows a pair of Ukrainian warplanes entering the combat course and striking the enemy positioned in the vicinity of a populated place.
After the mission, the aircraft changed their flight course and fired thermal traps to protect themselves from possible enemy anti-aircraft defenses, specifically MANPADS missiles with an infrared homing head.
As previously reported, Ukrainian Su-25 jet aircraft use powerful S-25 unguided air-to-surface missiles in combat operations.
The published photos show the Ukrainian Air Force using S-25-О and S-25-ОFM missile modifications inserted in the PU-0-25 launch containers.
The S-25 unguided air-to-surface missile was developed by the Tochmash Design Bureau and it was adopted by the USSR in June 1975.
The S-25-O missile is designed to defeat lightly armored vehicles and enemy manpower.
The unguided missile has a range of 1600-3000 meters with a 151 kilograms warhead. The S-25-0’s warhead hull with a fragmentation notch splits up into twelve thousand fragments.
S-25-ОFM missile is a high-explosive penetrating type with a 150 kilograms warhead.
Ukrainian warplanes also use 122-mm S-13 unguided aircraft rockets against Russian invaders.
