The Ukrainian Defense Forces’ attack on Donetsk Airport on March 7 resulted in the destruction and damage of garages used by the invaders for Shahed and Gerbera strike drones.
Damage was also recorded in the area of a nearby combat unit warehouse. This was reported by the Telegram channel “Strategic Aviation of the Russian Federation,” which also published corresponding satellite images.
During the operation, Ukrainian forces used ATACMS and SCALP missiles. This allowed them to inflict critical damage on enemy infrastructure.
The strikes on the facility were coordinated by the Buntar-3 Ukrainian reconnaissance drone.
In addition to the destroyed facilities, eight more garages near the launchers disappeared. They were completely removed from the territory after the attack.
At the same time, new fortifications were spotted in the area of the airfield. The invaders built four concrete bunkers.
Due to the use of concrete and the design features, such fortifications will be much more difficult to destroy with the available means.
The enemy expects that these bunkers will protect equipment and ammunition from future attacks.
The construction of infrastructure for the operation of drones in the airport area became known back in August 2025.
At that time, intelligence recorded the construction of closed areas for storing aircraft and manual control points.
In November 2025, the Ukrainian military destroyed a Russian warehouse on the territory of Donetsk airport.
At that time, they managed to destroy about 1,000 Shahed-type drones, along with the equipment for their assembly and launch.
