A Ка-26 helicopter illegally exported from Ukraine was seized on the border with Hungary.
The seizure happened in the Zakarpattia region, at the Tisa checkpoint.
It was transported by a truck with Ukrainian registration.
During the inspection of the helicopter, law enforcement officers suspected that the helicopter had been moved through the checkpoint illegally.
The truck carrying the helicopter was taken out of the general line for an in-depth inspection.
During the inspection, the border guard officers, together with an employee of the State Migration Service, found that the documents on which the Ка-26 were transported contained false information about the manufacturer.
These disagreements were confirmed by a judicial expert who received a request for expertise on Ka-26 documentation.
Based on the results of the inspection and the discovery of documents containing false information, the Кa-26 helicopter was seized by customs officers.
It was estimated at more than 1 million 924 thousand hryvnias.
The Ка-26 multipurpose helicopter has been mass-produced since 1969.
The Ka-26 is a light utility helicopter with coaxial rotors and a four wheeled landing gear.
The helicopter is equipped with two 9-cylinder, piston-driven, air-cooled radial engines located in engine nacelles on the sides of the fuselage.
