60 soldiers of the Azov Assault Brigade of the National Guard of Ukraine have completed the training course for marksmen from the Come Back Alive Foundation instructors.
The news was made public on the social media page of the Foundation.
The Ukrainian soldiers were trained as part of the Beast Catchers project.
The Azov soldiers have shown excellent results at the final firing and already strengthened their units, the Foundation notes.
In addition to theoretical knowledge, the marksmen received 50 optical and 12 thermal imaging scopes with mounts for their rifles, as well as 2 thermal imaging binoculars and equipment for monitoring and confirming target hits.
The total value of the aid amounts to UAH 5,180,348.54.
“The contribution of such soldiers in modern positional warfare can be decisive. During defensive battles or assaults on enemy positions, the marksmen will cover their comrades, detect and eliminate enemy machine gun or grenade launcher crews at a distance of about 600 meters, saving the lives of our defenders,” the Come Back Alive Foundation said.
As previously reported, within the framework of the Beast Catchers project, the instructors of the Come Back Alive Foundation are to train 600 marksmen for 10 combat brigades of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
The Foundation will also provide them with 600 scopes, including 100 thermal imaging scopes, as well as mounts and other necessary equipment.
The total value of the project is about UAH 25 million.
The expected result of the Beast Catchers project is to provide Ukrainian units with better trained and more accurate marksmen, which are critically needed both in offense and defense.
The first training course was conducted for 60 soldiers of the 32nd Mechanized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The marksmen of the “Lyut” (Rage – ed.) Assault Brigade were also trained.
