The 3rd Assault Brigade showed a clearing operation in Orlivka, Avdiivka sector.
The Brigade said that during the operation, assaultmen had to mop-up the houses in which the groups of invaders remained.
The operation has been carried out recently, but its footage has only been released now.
The Ukrainian military used small arms and grenade launchers for the assault. They also had thermobaric high-explosive grenades captured previously.
The actions of the Ukrainian assaultmen were covered by drones, which were also involved in supplies’ delivery to the settlement.
At the same time, the Russian invaders also used a drone and hit Ukrainian positions in Orlivka with FPV drones.
They used mortars of 120mm caliber against the soldiers of the 3rd Assault Brigade.
During the fight, one of the Ukrainian military was wounded. He was evacuated from the village.
According to DeepStateMAP analysts, the invaders have already occupied the main part of Orlivka and are trying to go south of Semenivka.
Recently, Dmytro Lykhoviy, a spokesman of the Tavria operational-strategic group defending this section of the front, stated that the cascade of reservoirs along the Berdychi-Semenivka-Orlivka line is a natural water obstacle, behind which the Ukrainian Armed Forces plan to keep the defense.
“The terrain itself should contribute to the defense: a cascade of reservoirs has been identified as a priority. Thus, the units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Avdiivka sector are continuing their defense operation,” the spokesman said.
According to Anatoly Nikitin, junior sergeant of the Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) battalion of the 3rd Assault Brigade, there are field fortifications that help the Armed Forces of Ukraine defend against infantry units of the Russian army and artillery. Unfortunately, currently, there’s no protection against the controlled aircraft bombs that Russian forces use in this direction.
