Ukrainian paratroopers strike a Russian Tor SAM using a drone

Drone operators of the 77th Airmobile Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine hit a Russian Tor-M2 surface-to-air missile system.

Volunteer and blogger Serhii Sternenko reported on this. He also posted a video of the attack.

According to him, the Russian SAM was discovered when it shot down a Ukrainian FPV drone.

After that, the soldiers of the Attack Drone Company “Rubaka” of the 77th Airmobile Brigade sent another drone to destroy it.

“The soldiers of the Attack Drone Company “Rubaka” of the 77th Airmobile Brigade were peacefully flying your long-range drone until it was hit by a Tor SAM and shot down by the FPV drone. And with this, it unmasked its position,” Sternenko said.

According to him, another Ukrainian long-range FPV drone promptly flew to the Russian SAM system and exploded over it.

After being hit, the Russian SAM started to smoke and began to flee from its firing position. All this time, a Ukrainian drone was following it.

“The Tor SAM was forced to flee, leaving a long plume of black smoke,” the volunteer stated.

In August, Militarnyi reported that the 77th Airmobile Brigade’s FPV drones destroyed Russian air defense systems.

A ZU-23 mounted on a Ural truck, as well as Tor, Strela-10, and Buk surface-to-air missile systems, were attacked.

Last month, the 77th Brigade together with the 79th Brigade of the Air Assault Forces received Pulstron reconnaissance and strike systems from the Come Back Alive Foundation.

This equipment help the military from the companies of unmanned aerial vehicles in reconnaissance, fire control and combat operations management. This helps them to hit enemy targets more effectively.
