An operation to encircle the Russian group is underway in the Lyman direction – the General Staff

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine does not yet reveal the settlements that are already back under the control of the Defense Forces of Ukraine.

Serhiy Cherevaty, the spokesman of the Eastern Group of Troops, informed Suspilne about this.

He emphasized that the results of the operation in the Lyman area will be announced after stabilization measures.

“We cannot yet give exact data about the liberated cities. Because the flag of the Armed Forces of Ukraine can be brought in and raised, but the fighting is still going on. After the stabilization measures, we will be able to talk in more detail when all security measures will be taken and the enemy’s counterattack will not take place,” Cherevaty said.

An operation to encircle a group of Russian troops is currently underway in the Lyman direction.

“Actually, all approaches and logistical routes of the enemy, which he used to deliver ammunition and manpower, are under the fire control of the Armed Forces of Ukraine,” Serhiy Cherevaty reported.

He emphasized that the work of the Armed Forces has already reached the stage of completion. The operation is lasting longer, because the enemy units in the Lyman area are more fortified and motivated than they were in the Kharkiv direction.

“Our General Staff and field staff beat them tactically: planning and carrying out the operation, as military personnel with a high level of experience and training,” he noted.

The leader of the so-called “DPR” Denis Pushilin said that the road from Svatovo is controlled by the Russian military, but it remains under fire from the Ukrainian army. He also informed that Yampil and Drobysheve are not fully controlled by Russian troops.

The day before, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that the active front line is 850 kilometers long.
