The Russian invaders lost several BMD-2 airborne infantry fighting vehicle.
A video with captured Russian equipment was published on social media.
In addition to the regular BMD-2, Ukrainian soldiers received the BTR-D airborne armored personnel carrier.
This vehicle is the main basic armored personnel carrier of airborne and airmobile troops of the Russian Federation.
It is designed using BMD-1 assemblies and aggregates, but does not have a turret with weapons.
Two 7.62mm PKT machine guns serve as the main weapon of the BTR-D. Futhermore, various armors can be installed on its upper part of the hull: AGS-17, ZU-23-2, Konkurs or Fagot ATGM.
BTR-D differs from BMD-1 by an elongated hull of almost 483mm. The length of the support surface of the tracks was also increased, on each side there were 6 rollers.
The permanent crew of the BTR-D consists of three people: a driver and two machine gunners, while the landing compartment can accommodate ten soldiers.
BMD-2 is a tracked armored airborne floating infantry fighting vehicle which is landed through parachute, parachute-jet, and landing methods.
It is designed to transport personnel, increase their mobility, weapons and protection of airborne and airmobile troops on the battlefield.
Also in the south of Ukraine, Bayraktar TB2 multi-purpose drones worked against Russian tanks.
