Estonia will send Ukraine more weapons and another field hospital and will assist in Ukrainian soldiers’ training.

The Estonian national broadcaster ERR reported about this.

On Thursday, August 18, the government approved the additional military aid package to Ukraine, which is provided to resist the full-scale aggression of the Russian Federation.

Estonia will send more weapons to Ukraine, such as mortars and anti-tank weapons. In addition, Estonia plans to support the training of Ukrainian servicemen initiated by Great Britain.

Also, in cooperation with Germany, the country will send one more field hospital to Ukraine.

“The fighting in Ukraine continues to be intense. Although more and more western weaponry is reaching the frontlines, our moral responsibility is to continue supporting Ukraine. Ukraine is fighting for our shared values, and if there is anything we can send to Ukrainians, we have to do so,” said Minister of Defense Hanno Pevkur.

According to the minister, “in addition to weapons, the Armed Forces of Ukraine have asked for more support from allies in the training of their Armed Forces.”

“The Estonian Defense Forces are especially proficient in training reservists for combat in an intense conventional war against a larger adversary – meaning, precisely for the kind of war that Ukraine is in right now,” said Pevkur.

In addition to weapons and training, Estonia plans to support the medical capabilities of Ukrainian units and, in cooperation with Germany, donate a second field hospital to the Ukrainian defense forces.

Minister Pevkur emphasized that the Western world should also be prepared for the fact that Russia will wage an information war, spreading information about the West’s fatigue and the ineffectiveness of aid to Ukraine.

As previously reported, in the near future, the government of the Republic of Estonia is going to develop a comprehensive military assistance package for Ukraine.

Estonia had already provided Ukraine with military aid worth approximately EUR 250 million. It included Javelin anti-tank missile systems, howitzers, anti-tank grenade launchers, mortars, and other equipment.
