The Ukrainian crew of the Panzerhaubitze 2000 self-propelled howitzer (PzH 2000) gave an assessment of German weapons on the front line.
An interview with Ukrainian gunners was published by RFE/RL.
It took just a month and a half for the Ukrainian military in mastering the German self-propelled howitzer.
The replenishment of shells in PzH2000 is automated, a full set of 60 rounds can be reloaded in 12 minutes.
To do this operation, the crew of a self-propelled howitzer has two loaders.
“It allows you to fire three shots in ten seconds, this is its fastest rate of fire, it’s very fast,” says the Ukrainian military.
The maximum effective range depends on the type of ammunition. The Ukrainian military calls the firing range approximately 30 kilometers.
“The effect is maximally effective. If the projectile flies into the target, then nobody will survive in that place, metal, flesh – it does not matter,” the serviсeman shares his experience with the use of self-propelled guns.
The commander of the gun receives the coordinates of the target, leads the gun to the desired spot for the fire mission and automatically adjusts the gun.
Recall the total number of 155 mm self-propelled howitzers of this type in the Armed Forces of Ukraine will become 18 units.
In June, it became known that Ukraine would receive additional Panzerhaubitze 2000 self-propelled howitzers from Germany and the Netherlands. An additional 6 ACSs will come to the 12 PzH 2000, which were transferred to Ukraine earlier.
Also recently it became known that Lithuania will donate to Ukraine М577 Command Post Carrier, which after retrofitted M577 can be used to combat control PzH 2000 howitzers.
