The German Diehl Defense company developed and presented a new IRIS-T SLS Mk III medium-range self-propelled air defense system.
The mobile anti-aircraft missile system is mounted on the Eagle wheeled armored vehicle in a 6×6 configuration.
Protecting troops on the move against threats from the air is a difficult task. The Diehl Defense company accepted this challenge and developed a highly mobile anti-aircraft system with the ability to fire on the move.
The proven IRIS-T guided missile is used in an anti-aircraft version, which provides effective protection against a wide range of targets.
The IRIS-T SLS Mk III missile is designed to intercept a wide range of aerial threats, such as attack helicopters, anti-radar missiles, cruise missiles, drones and large-caliber missiles.
IRIS-T SLS Mk III radar, combat control system and launcher are integrated into one vehicle.
To provide a wide range of missions, the radar can be raised, allowing the system to be used under cover.
Of course, Diehl Defense remains true to its unique integration philosophy for the IRIS-T SLS Mk III and offers the ability to combine various command and control systems, radars and communication solutions into one powerful system.
The IRIS-T SLS Mk III missile has a pre-fragment warhead and provides all-round protection against air attacks.
The missile is propelled by an advanced missile engine. It has a flight range of about 12 km and the ability to hit air targets at an altitude of about 6 km.
The body of the Eagle vehicle provides standard STANAG 4569 level 1 ballistic protection against 7.62 caliber small arms fire and artillery shell fragments.
As previously reported, in June, Ukraine signed a contract with the German Diehl Defense company for the purchase of the IRIS-T SL anti-aircraft missile system.
