In the already liberated and temporarily occupied areas, police are investigating the cases of missing persons and the death of Ukrainians caused by the actions of the Russian invaders.
Militarnyi informs about this.
The National Police of Ukraine is investigating nearly 900 criminal cases involving missing Ukrainians and over 500 cases of abduction of civilians, said Serhiy Panteleyev, First Deputy Head of the Main Investigation Department of the National Police at a briefing in Kyiv on Monday.
Over 2,500 cases involve the deaths of Ukrainian citizens.
“To date, the National Police has registered almost 900 criminal proceedings regarding our missing citizens in the territories that were and, unfortunately, still are under occupation,” Panteleyev said.
Serhiy Panteleyev also noted that the police had documented the facts of the illegal detention of more than 500 civilian Ukrainians by the invaders.
In addition, according to Panteleyev, the police are investigating criminal proceedings on the facts of the death of over 2,500 citizens of Ukraine during Russia’s full-scale aggression.
The Deputy Chief of the Main Investigation Department of the National Police also showcased the chronology of crimes against civilians in the Kyiv region.
He also demonstrated the comparative tables showing how many people were living in those territories before the occupation, and how many remained after the liberation.
The police had also recorded what the invaders did in every apartment complex in every city of the Kyiv region.
In early April, it was reported that many bodies of Ukrainian civilians killed by the Russian invaders were found in the cities of the Kyiv region and on the roads between settlements.
