This statement was made by Deputy Prime Minister – Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories of Ukraine Iryna Vereshchuk.
“At present, we officially have 562 war prisoners of Russia,” she said in an interview with the TSN television channel, according to the Reintegration Ministry press service.
According to Vereschuk, all war prisoners are treated under international humanitarian law.
As reported earlier, Ukraine is forced to create full-fledged camps for captured servicemen of the Russian army.
The Prosecutor General of Ukraine Iryna Venediktova confirmed that the camps for Russian prisoners of war are already functioning.
