The Pandur 8×8 EVO armored personnel carrier and the CZ BREN 3 assault rifle — new products from the Czech defense industry to be showcased at IDET-2025

Between May 28 and 30, 2025, the IDET-2025 International Defense and Security Technology Fair, held every two years, will once again take place at the exhibition center in Brno, Czech Republic.

Together with the PYROS and ISET exhibitions dedicated to presenting equipment and services for firefighting, police, and security, it will showcase the latest technologies and trends in the defense industry.

One of the main events will be the world premiere of the Pandur 8×8 EVO wheeled infantry fighting vehicle from Tatra Defense Vehicle.

The combat vehicle will be presented at the stand of the Czechoslovak Group (CSG), the general partner of the fair this year.

The Pandur 8×8 EVO is a new generation combat vehicle that provides high passive and active protection for the crew and the vehicle, is equipped with advanced electronic and communication equipment, and can be fitted with various types of combat turrets and a powerful power plant.

In February, we reported on the hull welding for the first Pandur 8×8 EVO armored vehicle at the Kopřivnice plant. It was announced then that the vehicle would premiere in May.

Another important novelty at IDET-2025 will be the third generation of CZ BREN 3 assault rifles from Česká Zbrojovka, which will have its Czech premiere at the exhibition.

In June 2024, the Czech arms company unveiled the new BREN 3 modular rifle system, which it developed based on the experience of other countries using previous rifles, including the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

The new-generation rifle is available in two calibers – 5.56×45 NATO and 7.62×67 mm (300 AAC Blackout) – with barrels of various lengths. The 5.56×45 NATO caliber version is available with 7/11/14.5/16.5-inch barrels. The .300 Blackout caliber version is available with a 7- or 9-inch barrel.

The rifle barrel is manufactured using cold forging technology, which ensures high accuracy and durability, further enhanced by a chrome-plated barrel bore. All this should double the service life of the weapon compared to the BREN 2 to at least 20,000 rounds.
