The Iranian regime has already begun receiving assistance from Russia with drones.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reported on this.
“Russia has begun to support the Iranian regime with drones. It will certainly help with missiles as well, and is also assisting them with air defense,” Zelensky said.
The Russian defense industry is capable of supplying Iran with key drone components, even without supplying ready-made drones.
A whole network of enterprises is involved in the production of localized Iranian drones in Russia. They are responsible for the production of mechanical parts, fuselage, and certain electronic components.
In particular, Russia has localized the Iranian MD550 engines used in Shaheds, as well as composite materials and electronics.
The Russians have simplified the design of the engines for the Shaheds to reduce costs — they no longer install a starter and flywheel.
One of the most valuable components that Russia can transfer to Iran is the Kometa receivers for drones.
They are designed to protect navigation signals from intentional and unintentional interference, stabilize satellite navigation system signals, and reduce the impact of electronic warfare measures.
Russia can supply Iran with FPV drones in various categories on a massive scale, from small quadcopters to aircraft-type drones.
Russian President Vladimir Putin publicly supports the Iranian regime and recently expressed solidarity with Iran and congratulated the newly elected supreme leader of the regime, Mojtaba Khamenei.
Subsequently, US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth stated that Russia should not interfere in the war between the United States and Israel against Iran.
