The Supreme Commander-in-Chief’s Staff has approved a new mechanism for distributing recruits between units. It should guarantee that each combat brigade will have a monthly replenishment of personnel.

This was announced by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky.

“Each combat brigade must be guaranteed to receive monthly replenishment of people so that they understand how to organize training in the brigade, how to conduct rotations and how to plan work,” the President of Ukraine said.

As explained by Colonel Pavlo Palisa, Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, each brigade performing combat missions on the contact line will receive a stable, defined number of mobilized personnel every month. There should be fewer manual decisions, and a clear system that allows commanders to plan for recuperation and training of personnel should start working.

A new approach to the distribution of mobilized personnel among military units suggests that this will take place even before basic training begins.

According to him, recruits will be trained as close as possible to the conditions of a particular brigade. Currently, 37 combat brigades have the right to conduct basic military training on their own.

Where they do not yet have their own training facilities, the training will take place in training centers and training battalions of army corps, but with full support of instructors from the brigade.

“For the brigades, this means predictability, the ability to form their training cycles, coordinate units, and work with people more systematically. This is a step that is long overdue and directly affects the stability of the combat line. Together with the General Staff and commanders, we continue to work on the details of implementation. The main thing is that this system should work fairly, equally for everyone and help those who are holding the line today,” said Pavlo Palisa.

In late November, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, during a report by Defence Minister Denys Shmyhal, instructed to change the basic documents on Ukraine’s defense, including the state defense plan.
