Recently, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson stated that there was a “realistic possibility” that Russian forces would win the invasion of Ukraine.

Referring to Western intelligence reports that Russia could succeed in the war in Ukraine, Johnson said: “It is a sad thing that this is a realistic possibility.”

“Putin has a huge army, he has a very difficult political position because he’s made a catastrophic blunder. The only option he now has really is to try to continue to use his appalling, grinding approach led by artillery, trying to grind the Ukrainians down,” he said.

“He’s very close to securing a land bridge in Mariupol now. The situation is, I’m afraid, unpredictable at this stage but we’ve just got to be realistic about it.” Johnson added.

Speaking at a news conference in New Delhi, the British prime minister said that Ukrainians had demonstrated the “incredible heroism” during the war and that “no matter what military superiority Putin has, he will not be able to “overcome the spirit of the Ukrainian people.”

The Prime Minister also said that Britain would be sending more artillery to the Ukrainian troops and confirmed that the British Embassy in Ukraine will reopen in Kyiv shortly.

It was previously reported that the Ukrainian defenders are already undergoing training in the UK, learning how to use the armored vehicles that would be delivered to Ukraine. A total of 120 vehicles will be arriving in Ukraine.
