An explosion occurred at the Russian invaders’ base in the Popasna settlement in the Luhansk Region. Popasna is currently occupied by Russians.
Russian media reported an attack on one of the locations of mercenaries from the so-called Wagner PMC (Liga – ed.).
The Russians claim a hit, probably a GMLRS missile from the M142 HIMARS rocket system.
“An attack was made on one of the locations of the “PMC Wagner” in Popasna. Sources in Donbas confirm it. Probably HIMARS,” reported Russian media.
Photos featuring bodies in military uniforms being taken out of a destroyed building in Popasna were published on social media.
“We’re pulling out the boys in Popasna,” reads an author’s comment on the photos.
It is worth noting that Russian mercenaries set up their base in a high-rise building, probably abandoned because of hostilities.
On August 8, a Russian with the nickname “Voenkor Sereda” released photos of this building, asserting the “PMC Wagner” base was located there.
“Arrived in Popasna, stopped by the headquarters of WAGNER PMC. They met me like family. And told several funny stories.”
Russian mercenaries located their base at Myronivska Street, 12, on the outskirts of Popasna.
Russian mercenaries from the so-called “PMC Wagner” are a Russian military structure that is staffed by mercenaries, Russian prisoners and supplied with weapons and ammunition from the warehouses of the Ministry of Defense of Russia.
The structure is a division of the Special Operations Forces of the Russian Federation, and only disguises itself as a private company, instead performing the tasks of both the General Staff of the Ministry of Defense of Russia and the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation.
