Ukrainian troops defeated a Russian offensive armored group in the Vuhledar sector.

The Ukrainian military said that the battle took place near the occupied village of Mykilske in the Donetsk region.

It is currently known that the battle was taken by soldiers from the 72nd Mechanized Brigade, named after the Black Zaporozhians.

On the morning of November 2, the Russian command sent many tanks, infantry fighting vehicles, and manpower to the assault.

A convoy with a large quantity of tanks and troops attempted to attack east of the village of Mykilske, located near Vuhledar town.

As a result, at least 10 units of equipment were damaged, including several infantry fighting vehicles and 3 tanks – one T-80BV and two T-72B3.

The T-80BV tank was used as a vehicle that was supposed to make its way through minefields. For this purpose, a KMT-7 mine roller was installed on the tank.

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, also spoke about this battle today.

“There was an attempt by the enemy to attack in the Vuhledar sector, but our soldiers stopped it, inflicting heavy losses on the enemy: dozens of vehicles, many killed and wounded,” Volodymyr Zelensky said.

In early October, Ukrainian troops advanced northeast of Mykilske.

Presumably, the Russian command decided to regain the lost positions near this settlement.

As previously reported, the Ukrainian military also recently defeated one of the Russian armored groups that was trying to occupy part of the Kharkiv region.
