The Ministry of Defence of Ukraine has codified and authorized the use of the Vikhor FPV-system in the units of the Defense Forces.

This was announced on Monday, November 18, by the press service of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine.

The Ministry of Defence also disclosed some technical characteristics of these drones.

In particular, it is noted that the FPV drones of the Vikhor system were available in several sizes.

For controling the drones, the pilot uses a special remote control, FPV goggles, and signal transmission equipment.

According to the Ministry of Defence, the copters of this complex are fast and can easily catch up with enemy armored vehicles or cars in motion and hit them.

In addition, these FPV strike drones can also be used to hit the manpower of Russian invaders who stay in trenches and hide in dugouts. This indicates that drones can be equipped with ammunition of various effects for effective operation.

It is also noted that manufacturers can equip the Vikhor drones with additional equipment to perform a wider range of tasks on the battlefield.

Recently, the Ukrainian developers of unmanned systems have presented their solutions to the military, which are intended to replace Chinese Mavic drones at the tactical level, which are at the different stages of readiness.

This was a demonstration for the General Staff, the Unmanned Systems Command, the Logistics Command, government procurement and military units. The military assessed the quality of the products and talked directly to the manufacturers about the characteristics, features and production capabilities.

It also became known that the year before the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine had spent UAH 50 billion on the purchase of the drones.

According to Hlib Kanievskyi, director of the Defence Ministry’s procurement department, UAH 20 billion was spent on long-range drones. Five Ukrainian companies have already received long-term contracts for the production of such UAVs.
