The Verkhovna Rada adopted a bill that simplifies the imports of electronic warfare (EW) equipment into Ukraine.
People’s Deputy Iryna Herashchenko reported on this.
“Parliament exempted the imports of components necessary for radar systems and EW systems from VAT, thus simplifying their import,” Herashchenko wrote.
She noted that the Parliament passed the Law on Amendments to paragraph 32 of subsection 2 of section XX “Transitional provisions” of the Tax Code of Ukraine on the peculiarities of the import of goods for security and defense needs into the customs territory of Ukraine #10341.
Taxation will not be applied to goods received by law enforcement agencies, the Ministry of Defense, the Armed Forces, the security, and defense forces.
“This regards not only imported radar devices, but also those produced in Ukraine,” Herashchenko shared.
In modern military conflicts, electronic warfare (EW) is becoming increasingly important.
The most important area of electronic warfare application is the disabling of enemy surveillance equipment, as well as electronic jamming.
Kovalenko adds that EW is a very important element in the system of both intelligence and influence on the positions and combat capability of the enemy.
In December, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine allowed the operation of the new items of Ukrainian-made EW systems, designed to counter UAVs.
New electronic warfare systems are now being actively developed in Ukraine.
Recently, the Ukrainian KVERTUS has developed a portable anti-FPV device that should suppress the signal on these drones.
