Washington will transfer 31 Abrams tanks to Ukraine.
Bloomberg journalist Jennifer Jacobs reported about this on Twitter.
The tanks will be included in the new $400 million military aid package to Ukraine, which is to be announced by U.S. President Joe Biden.
The announcement of the administration of the President of the United States about sending tanks should be made this week.

According to Reuters, the American Abrams tanks for Ukraine will most likely be purchased through the USAI (Ukraine Security Assistance Initiative) Fund, which allows for weapons to be obtained from the industry rather than existing U.S. weapons stocks.
One official mentioned that it was likely that the Biden administration would use the USAI process to purchase Abrams from allies, repair them, and then send them to Ukraine.
At that time, the journalistic source said there were talks on transferring about 30 tanks in the coming months.
The M1 Abrams is the main battle tank of the U.S. Army, which has been serially produced since 1980 by the General Dynamics Land Systems Corporation. It is in service with the U.S. Army and Marines. The Abrams M1A2 is the United States’ main battle tank at the moment.
The Abrams M1A2 is armed with a M256 120mm smoothbore gun and an additional 7.62mm twin machine gun mounted to the right of the gun.
M1A1 Abrams is powered by a Honeywell AGT 1500 gas turbine engine. It can reach a top speed of 68 km/h with a maximum range of 426 km.
