The U.S. Secretary of Defense announces the 68th tranche of military aid to Ukraine, worth $400 million.

“Under President Biden’s leadership, the United States remains committed to keeping up this support. I’m pleased to announce today a commitment of a $400 million presidential drawdown package to provide your forces with additional munitions, armored vehicles and anti-tank weapons,” Austin said.
He noted that his country would continue to provide assistance in accordance with the bilateral security agreement that had been concluded with Ukraine.
The Wall Street Journal’s jounalist Lara Seligman, who is responsible for interacting with the Pentagon, released a yet-to-be-published list of equipment and weapons to be included in the new package.

In his statement, Austin noted that the United States was well aware of the consequences of Putin’s war for both Ukraine and the world.
“That’s why I would like to reconvene the Ukraine Defense Contact Group. We are working in a coalition of more than 50 countries to provide security assistance to Ukraine so that Ukraine wins,” the U.S. Secretary of Defense said.
A week earlier, the United States announced another military aid package worth $425 million.
In addition to the already standard list of artillery and rocket shells, it includes a list of ammunition for air defense systems. In particular, munitions for NASAMS systems, modernized Buk-FrankenSAM systems, and Stinger MANPADS.
The US President announced this military aid package during a conversation with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi.
