The US military uses 105mm ammunition with the M119 (L119) lightweight towed howitzers.

The M119 is usually towed by a military SUV and can also be easily lifted by helicopter or dropped by parachute.

The howitzer was designed and manufactured by the British Royal Ordnance Works as the L118 lightweight gun.

In June 2022, the Ukrainian servicemen in Great Britain began to master these towed howitzers.

In July, artillerymen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine already started using 105 mm L119 howitzers in the war with Russia.

Ukraine receives at least 36 British 105 mm L119 howitzers – M1 ammunition fired with them can hit targets at a distance of up to 11.5 km.
