The Secretary of State has approved a possible Foreign Military Sale to the Government of Israel of F-15IA and F-15I+ Aircraft and related equipment.
The relevant documents were published on the official website of the Defense Security Cooperation Agency.
Thus, among the authorized sales, the main one is the permission to sell 50 modern F-15IA fighter jets to Israel, which is a specially designed version of the F-15EX fighter for the Israeli Air Force.
In addition, the contract includes Mid-Life modification kits, which will be used to upgrade 25 F-15I fighters to the F-15I+ version.
To carry out this modernization and support the new F-15IA aircraft, Israel will receive 120 F110-GE-129 engines, 90 Advanced Display Core Processors II, 75 APG-82(V)1 Active Electronically Scanned Array radars, 50 AN/AAQ-13 LANTIRN navigation pods with containers, 320 LAU-128 Advanced Medium Range Air-to-Air Missile launchers, 25 M61A Vulcan cannons, and 180 Embedded Global Positioning System/Inertial Navigation System devices with M-Code.
The total value of the contract to purchase aircraft and related equipment is $18.8 billion. Delivery is scheduled to begin in 2029.
In addition, the Department of State has approved the possible sale of 30 AIM-120C-8 AMRAAM air-to-air missiles.
The missile order was valued at $102.5 million. In addition to aircraft, ammunition was also ordered, including 120-mm shells for the MG253 tank guns mounted on Merlava Mk.4 tanks and 120-mm mortar bombs.
The contract for the purchase of 120-mm tank ammunition is worth $774.1 million. Under it, Israel will receive 32,739 M1147 (HEMP-T) or M830A1 (MPAT) multipurpose shells. The delivery of tank shells is scheduled to begin in 2027.
Also, within the authorization, Israel will receive 50,000 thousand 120-mm M933A1 mortar cartridges with an M783 fuze. The contract is worth $61.1 million and the transfer will begin in 2026.
The latest permit for a possible sale was a request for the purchase of modified 8-ton M1148A1P2 tactical trucks worth $583.1 placed by the Israeli government. The contract is due to start in 2026.
Militarnyi previously reported that the Department of State made a determination approving a possible Foreign Military Sale to the Government of Norway of M142 High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems and related equipment for an estimated cost of $580 million.
