The United States, following Ukraine, has launched a marketplace for drones and their components — the Unmanned Aircraft Systems Marketplace (UASM) — for military use.
This was reported by the US Army press service.
The platform is intended to allow army units, government partners and allied countries to procure proven unmanned aerial vehicle solutions more efficiently.
UASM was developed in cooperation with Amazon Web Services and the US Army Cloud Technology Management Agency.
The platform provides tools to compare system specifications, collect feedback and streamline order processing.
In addition, the US Army is using UASM to accelerate the delivery of innovative UAV solutions to allies and international partners.
The concept of the platform is likely based on Ukrainian solutions, including Brave1 Market and DOT-Chain Defense.
On these platforms, Ukrainian military personnel can purchase ground robotic systems and drones of various types directly from manufacturers, reducing the logistical burden on units and the Defense Ministry.
The platforms also allow users to compare prices and specifications and contact manufacturers directly to improve products.
In addition, there is a system of electronic reward points — used to credit units for destroyed or hit targets — which can be used to purchase drones.
