The NATO strategy in Eastern Europe provides for the rapid destruction of the Russian enclave of Kaliningrad.
This was reported by Defense News.
According to the Commander of the US Forces in Europe, General Christopher Donahue, as part of the plan to counter Russian threats and form a scalable global deterrence system, the US Army, together with NATO allies, is actively developing standardized systems and coordination solutions based on cloud technologies.
Regional defense plans have been in the works for a long time, but currently the priority is focused on the Baltic States.
According to Donahue, the goal is to ensure that industry and governments are fully aware of the real needs and requirements of the Alliance.
The General also noted that the experience of the Russian-Ukrainian war demonstrated the ability of the latest technologies to effectively control air and sea space.
Earlier it was reported that NATO, in particular the United States, is analyzing and implementing elements of Ukrainian naval warfare tactics.
Some of these lessons have already been applied during this year’s BALTOPS multinational exercise led by the US 6th Fleet.
Kaliningrad, a 75-mile-wide Russian enclave, is completely surrounded by NATO countries, he said.
Now the U.S. military and its allies are able to “destroy it from the ground in an unprecedentedly short time-faster than ever before.”
“We have already planned and prepared for this. Russia poses a challenge to us in terms of mass and speed, and we have developed solutions to effectively stop this threat,” Donahue emphasized.
He also spoke about the use of new technology – the Maven Smart System, an artificial intelligence system that processes large amounts of data, quickly analyzes the situation and helps commanders make decisions in real time.
