The American company Heven AeroTech has signed a framework agreement with the US Army to supply unmanned aerial vehicles.
The contract will allow military units to quickly procure hydrogen-powered Z1 drones, reports PR Newswire.
The document simplifies the process of acquiring hydrogen drones and related fuel generation systems for the Army’s needs. Thanks to this agreement, military units will have a pre-approved procurement process, allowing them to receive the latest equipment much faster without unnecessary bureaucratic procedures.
The model’s main advantage is its flight duration, which reaches 8 hours thanks to hydrogen. The aircraft is capable of carrying a payload weighing up to 8 kilograms, reaching a speed of 72 km/h, and operating at altitudes of up to 4,500 meters.
The drone is equipped with mobile hydrogen generation systems, allowing fuel to be produced directly in the field.
In addition, the Z1 hydrogen drone has already received Blue UAS certification, confirming its compliance with safety and reliability standards for the American defense sector.
The company is currently preparing for large-scale deliveries to accelerate the modernization of the military’s aircraft fleet.
