As part of regional commitments to Israel, fighter jets of the US Air Force and the Royal Air Force were intercepting Iranian missiles and drones.

According to Israeli media, allied aircraft managed to intercept about 38 air targets flying toward Israel.

It should be noted that the Royal Air Force uses the RAF Akrotiri airbase on the island of Cyprus to conduct combat and transport aircraft missions as part of operations in the Middle East. In addition, the 9th Operations Group of the US Air Force is stationed at the air base.

The air base is home to the 903rd Expeditionary Air Wing of the Royal Air Force, which includes a squadron of Typhoon FGR.4 fighters consisting of 9 aircraft (6 operational and 3 reserve).

The fighter jets are currently being used in Operation Shader to destroy ISIS terrorists in Syria and Iraq.
