In Russia, an unknown drone exploded near the city of Kaluga.
According to the governor of the Kaluga region, the accident occurred over a forest outside the settlement.
It is reported that the explosion sounded in the air, at an altitude of 50 meters.
There is no injury or damage.
Representatives of law enforcement agencies work on the spot.
Russian media claim that it was a Ukrainian drone.
They also publish photos of the OFAB-100-120 bomb that the drone seemed to be carrying.
Kaluga is a city 180 kilometers from Moscow and the administrative center of the Kaluga Region, which borders the Bryansk Region of the Russian Federation on the west.
Recall, on October 7, 2022, an unknown drone flew into the territory of the Russian Shaikovka airbase in the Kaluga Region. The governor of the region said that the UAV could fly from the border with Ukraine – from about 225 km.
The 52nd Guards Heavy Bomber Aviation Regiment of the Russian Air Force is stationed there.
This Regiment is armed with Tu-22М3 long-range supersonic bombers, which were shelling the territory of Ukraine with Kh-22 supersonic cruise missiles.
It was the military of this regiment, according to the SSU, who were involved in a missile attack on a residential building in Dnipro on January 14 this year.
It is worth noting that the authorities began to install air defense systems — in particular, the Pantsir-S1 air defense system — on administrative buildings in Moscow, as well as on buildings around the Kremlin. The process began at the end of January, 2023.
