The German company ACS Armored Car Systems has received an additional order for Enok AB SUVs from an undisclosed country.

This was reported by Hartpunkt.

The company published a post on LinkedIn on January 15: “We have started building another batch of new Enok AB vehicles. We are proud that the customer was satisfied and ordered new cars.”

An image was also posted showing Mercedes-Benz G Series 461 vehicles in production, which are the basis for Enok AB’s army off-road vehicles.

Hartpunkt noted that those vehicles had a long wheelbase. This suggests that the likely customer is the Cypriot Armed Forces.

This is the only customer who has received the Enok AB with a long wheelbase in the so-called “Tankhunter” version. The vehicle was equipped with the Israeli Spike LR2 anti-tank missile system. However, ACS Armored Car Systems did not want to comment on the publication’s assumptions in this regard.

Militarnyi reported on the delivery of the first such vehicle to the Cypriot Armed Forces in August last year. In total, the country has previously ordered 60 Enok AB off-road vehicles.

Anti-tank version

The Tankhunter is built on the Mercedes-Benz G Series 461 platform with a long wheelbase. This is necessary to ensure that the vehicle has a large enough cargo volume to transport the anti-tank system and missiles for it.

The cargo compartment is connected to the combat compartment and has a fireproof folding roof. According to preliminary information from ACS, the fire resistance combined with the slope of the rear of the cargo compartment is necessary for safety reasons for the crew.

The Tankhunter crew itself consists of four servicemen: a driver, a commander, a gunner and a Spike LR2 missile loader/guide.

The Enok AB uses a modular aluminum frame, which allows it to be quickly adapted to different missions such as fire support and reconnaissance. The entire structure consists of only three different types of profiles, which are connected by screws.

The SUV is equipped with a diesel engine that provides a maximum speed of 120 km/h. The vehicle’s level of protection, which can reach STANAG 1, provides resistance to small arms fire.
