An unidentified aircraft violated Ukrainian airspace near the village of Dyatlik, Narowlya district, Gomel region, Belarus.
The Ukrainian Air Force reported the illegal crossing of the airspace.
It is reported that the crossing took place at 2:25 p.m., and the target was located on the border of Kyiv and Zhytomyr regions.
Monitoring resources, including the Telegram channel Monitor, report that the target is identified as a Yak-130 jet trainer and light combat aircraft.
The Belarusian media, namely the publication Nasha Niva, confirms the same information.
The target was no longer on radar at around 2:42 p.m. It is not clear what happened to the plane; it could have been shot down by air defense systems or fighter aircraft, left Ukrainian airspace, or landed at one of the airfields.
It is known that as of 2024, the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus have 11 such aircraft in their arsenal.
At 2:46 p.m., the Ukrainian Air Force announced that the threat was over and that a UAV was present in the eastern part of Kyiv region.
As a reminder, Russian air threat have repeatedly violated Ukraine’s airspace through Belarus.
In early September, it was reported that the Russian Kh-47M2 Kinzhal hypersonic air-launched ballistic missiles that attacked Lviv on September 4 had entered Ukrainian airspace via Belarus.
The missiles flew about a hundred kilometers over the territory of the Gomel region of Belarus through the Bragin and Narovlya districts.
In addition, Russian drones often fly into the territory of Belarus due to technical malfunctions.
At 17:27, the Ukrainian Air Force stated that there had been no violation of airspace by Belarus, and that radar jamming was probably used.
